The One-Stop Workforce Development Solution for Employers and Job-seekers
Oak Park Career Center provides convenient one-stop access to job training programs and career services at no charge.
As one of nine electronically linked Oakland County Michigan Works! one-stop centers, we are funded by the Oakland County Executive, and the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Development.
Oak Park Career Center is housed in Oak Park's Clinton Center. Other integrated Oakland County One-stops are located in each of the following communities: Ferndale, Commerce, Highland, Oxford, Pontiac, Southfield, Troy and Waterford.
We offer the following services:
- Statewide Talent Bank
The Michigan Works! Talent Bank is available seven days a week, 24 hours a day on the internet at http://www.michworks.org. When logging on to this site, you can search open positions and post your resume. If you need help while visiting the site, call us. At the Center, we have computers for your use, and personnel to help you with your job search. The talent bank can be accessed and utilized by employers as well as prospective employees.

- Career Resource Center
The career library provides you with up-to-date job listings and information on schools, employers, interview techniques, resumes, and much more. Full office services, including telephones, fax machines, copiers, and computer terminals, are available for your use.
- Case Management Assistance
Career management specialists are available to discuss and help you identify your career goals and learn how to achieve them. These experienced professionals can help you match your personality, interests, aptitudes, and knowledge with jobs that draw upon your strengths for long-term success.
- Skill Enhancement
Individualized hands-on instruction in computer introduction, assessment, and current software applications is available. All training is facilitated by an instructor licensed by the State of Michigan. Other training includes basic and vocational reading and math, life skills, English as a second language, and GED preparation.
- Training Funds
We provide one-stop access to training funds for qualifying job seekers. Tuition assistance is available at a variety of colleges, universities, and vocational schools to meet your individual career goals, enhance your skills, and increase your marketability.
