The State has launched a new online tool to make it easier to find information about Adult Education programs and services.

ADULT EDUCATION SERVICES LOCATOR


New! Michigan Reconnect will pay the cost of tuition for eligible adults who want to pursue an associate degree or skills certificate at their in-district community college. The program also offers skills scholarships to help cover the cost of tuition through more than 70 private training schools with 120 programs that offer certificates in high-demand careers in industries such as manufacturing, construction, information technology, healthcare or business management.

To be eligible for Michigan Reconnect, you must:

Be at least 25 years old when you apply. Have lived in Michigan for a year or more. Have a high school diploma. Have not yet completed a college degree (associate or bachelor’s)

Michiganders can submit applications at Michigan.gov/Reconnect. The application takes less than five minutes to complete and can be done on a mobile device.

Employee assistance grants for those whose employment at entertainment and recreational venues and restaurants.

This grant program puts dollars in the pocket of Michiganders who work in hospitality, entertainment, recreation, accommodation and food services sectors -- as well as the gym and fitness sectors. This grant program helps offset some of the financial losses they may have incurred due to a furlough, layoff or job loss, or a reduction of hours. Here are a few toplines about the grant program:

Eligible individuals can apply for one-time grants of up to $1,650.

There’s a 10-day window to apply for this grant – from January 15 to January 25 (so please don’t wait to apply when this grant program opens on Friday).
